Bananova ("the App", "we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected and processed when you use Bananova, how that information is used, and the choices available to you.
Bananova does not require you to provide a name, email address, phone number, or create a traditional user account in order to play.
1. Information We Collect
Anonymous authentication identifier. Bananova uses Firebase Anonymous Authentication. When you use the App, Firebase creates an anonymous identifier used to provide game functionality without requiring registration with an email address, password, or social login.
Gameplay and leaderboard data. We may store information associated with the anonymous identifier that is necessary to operate the game, such as:
- score and best score;
- an anonymous or automatically generated player name;
- leaderboard information;
- in-game currency, inventory, and game progression where needed to provide game functionality.
Leaderboard information, such as an anonymous player name and score, may be visible to other players.
Product analytics. We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how players interact with Bananova. We may record limited usage events such as opening the shop, starting a run, finishing a run, interacting with game features, or using in-game items. Analytics may also process technical information such as app version, operating system, device type, installation or session identifiers, and general usage information.
Crash and diagnostic information. If Firebase Crashlytics is enabled, technical diagnostic information may be collected when the App crashes or encounters an error. This may include crash logs, app version, operating system information, device model, installation identifiers, and technical information related to the crash.
Purchase information. Bananova may offer optional in-app purchases. Payments are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. RevenueCat may be used to manage and verify in-app purchases. We may receive information needed to verify or manage a transaction, such as a product identifier, transaction status, purchase receipt, or anonymous app user identifier. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- operate and provide Bananova;
- authenticate players without requiring traditional registration;
- maintain scores, leaderboards, game progress, inventory, and in-game currency;
- process and verify in-app purchases;
- understand how players use the App and improve gameplay;
- diagnose crashes and technical problems;
- protect the security and integrity of the App and prevent abuse.
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
3. Third-Party Services
We use a limited number of third-party services to operate the App:
- Google Firebase — anonymous authentication, database functionality, analytics, and crash reporting where enabled;
- Apple App Store and Google Play — app distribution and in-app purchase processing;
- RevenueCat — purchase management and verification where enabled.
These providers may process limited technical, transactional, or usage information as necessary to provide their services.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
Gameplay and leaderboard data is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to operate Bananova. Analytics and diagnostic data is retained according to our configured retention settings and the retention practices of the applicable service provider. Purchase-related records may be retained where reasonably necessary for transaction verification, fraud prevention, accounting, or legal compliance.
You may contact us at [email protected] with a privacy-related question or deletion request.
Because Bananova does not collect identifying account information such as your name or email address, we may not always be able to match an email request to data generated by a specific anonymous App installation.
5. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information processed through Bananova, including encrypted network connections and security controls provided by our service providers. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
6. International Data Processing
Our service providers may process information in countries other than the country in which you live. Where required by applicable law, appropriate safeguards are used for international transfers of personal data.
7. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, applicable law may give you rights regarding your personal data, which can include access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or withdrawal of consent where processing is based on consent.
To make a privacy-related request, contact us at [email protected].
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when Bananova changes or when legal or platform requirements change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when this Privacy Policy was most recently revised.
